Strengthening Fair Trade in Central and Eastern Europe
Thank you so much for your participation in this year’s regional Fair Trade Conference ”Strengthening Fair Trade in Central and Eastern Europe”, which was held on the 29th and 30th of November 2010 in Warsaw, Poland. The conference was organised by the Polish Fair Trade Coalition and Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International (FLO).
The concept of fair trade enjoys increasing recognition in Central and Eastern Europe. As consumers get richer, they are gaining the freedom to be more conscious about their buying decisions. A growing number of individuals and civil society organizations have become active promoters of fair trade. And local fair trade entrepreneurs, as well as international companies, are becoming increasingly aware of the potential of the fair trade market in Central and Eastern Europe.
By providing a forum for mutual learning, networking and exchange of ideas, the conference aims to strengthen the fair trade movement in Central and Eastern Europe. It will bring together representatives from civil society, the corporate sector and international fair trade organizations.
The conference has received the patronage of European Commission Representation in Poland.
